Wildwood Outfitters Blog and Fishing Report
During this unprecedented event, situations are rapidly changing with new information and recommendations from state, federal and health officials. We, along with all other charter boat captains and guides in Pennsylvania, have been notified by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission that we are to cease guiding operations immediately. Therefore, we regret to announce that our guide trips are on hold indefinitely.
So does this mean we aren't scheduling guide trips? Absolutely not! We are still booking plenty of trout trips for May/June/July. Dates for this prime season are filling up fast as customers with trips booked now are pushing them back to those later dates. It's impossible to guess how long we will be on hold, but rest assured when we are cleared to resume business there won't be many openings so consider booking yours soon! We have gift certificates available and would be happy to send one to you.
Unfortunately what this does mean is the spring steelhead season has come to a close for Wildwood Outfitters. We had some amazing times with our guests this year, and look for another blog later this week dedicated to some of the extraordinary fish and unforgettable memories we made! Believe it or not, dates for next fall/winter are already starting to fill up. If you have the desire to chase after these amazing fish with us next season let us know and we can get you on the books!
Lastly, while our guide trips might be hitting pause for a little while, you can still go out and enjoy the wonderful waters of Pennsylvania. Current recommendations say that fishing is an acceptable activity as long as appropriate social distancing measures are being taken. It's the perfect time to pick up that fly rod collecting dust in the garage and spend a morning listening to the soothing rush of water interrupted by the whoosh of a cast and slurp of a feeding trout.
We'll see ya real soon!
