. The fairly constant high water of March has posed a few challenges, but it's also brought in fresh fish continuously. There is a nice mix of fresh/dark steelhead and that makes each catch a little unique! Try to avoid fishing the fish visible on spawning redds as much as possible. These steelhead are actively paired up and spawning, and even though natural reproduction is low, it's still a good habit to practice! Finding the combination of faster current and depth has been the key to success over the last few weeks. These fish are either paused on their migration run, or holding in a feeding lie, both of which make them prime targets for a nymph rig. Some hot flies on recent trips include:
