Wildwood Outfitters Blog and Fishing Report
While caddis are the primary bug hatching on our local waters, trout have been caught on everything from prince nymphs to girdle bugs to streamers. Extreme high water a few weeks ago pushed everything back a bit in Central PA, but our local waters have been on fire. Multiple trips have posted gaudy numbers of fish with doubles and even triples coming at a high rate. In fact, our friend Ron from Georgia hooked two fish on one cast last week! For those hitting the water in the central part of the state, be sure to start carrying some Green Drake patterns! Some are already starting to hatch and when they really start to come off the fish will go nuts for them. It's the type of bug activity that folks take time off work to hit. Sulphurs are also hatching in numbers and these patterns are catching fish pretty consistently. We've still got a few days open for the peak fishing over the next month or so! Now is the time to schedule your day on the water!
