Wildwood Outfitters Blog and Fishing Report
Most of our action has been in the deeper pools that also have a steady current pushing through. There are a ton of fish on the spawning gravel right now but they should be left alone to do their thing, even if the natural reproduction rate is low. You never know when one of those fish eggs will grow to become the 30-incher we land in a few years! Since conditions have been so dry, the fish have been congregating in the areas of depth that offer cover and food. As April continues our guide trips will shift over to trout and we'll be on those fish for the next few months before ramping up the steelhead trips again next fall! While steelhead are a truly extraordinary fish, we're excited to shift gears and go back to trout.
