Wildwood Outfitters Blog and Fishing Report
As long as the weather stays unseasonably warm, the fishing will remain outstanding! There are great numbers of fish in the tributaries and trips are consistently putting plenty of fish in the net. The only drawback to this elongated season is the crowds (which would usually be lessened thanks to harsh weather) are still out in full force. As long as anglers avoid the masses, there are fish to be caught in the early portions of 2020! Fish would typically be transitioning to the deeper winter holes, but thanks to the warm water temps they are still holding in quicker runs and riffles. This is fantastic news for fly anglers, as it has kept the fish and some of the fishing pressure spread out. It appears as though the weather might still to turn, however. Keep an eye on the extended forecast and avoid those days when nightly dip into the single digits as it will result in some ice building the following morning.
