A fish so amazing how could we not post it again?!

It was bound to happen, right? Eventually winter would sink its teeth into western Pennsylvania and make things interesting for us! Before that happened, we were experiencing some of the best fishing of the season. Great numbers of steelhead, and some monster brown trout, were being caught on guide trips by folks who enjoyed November temperatures in mid-January.

As the cold sets in, fish are transitioning to the deep wintering holes to ride things out for the next month. There are still steelhead to be caught in the faster riffles, but slushy flows have become a real problem. Few things can be done to combat this, so check the extended forecast and try to fish the warmest days available. When nightly lows dip into the low teens, rest assured the next morning will be icy and slushy.
