The power of fly fishing is something that we've talked about quite a bit on our blog.  Engagement stories,  nostalgia of fishing seasons of years past, and the benefits of a guide trip are just a few of the topics discussed over the the last several months.  One realm that we haven't ventured into is what can happen when someone deep-dives into fly fishing and becomes fully hooked.  That brings us to Kinsey Ann Durham, and her incredible journey into fly fishing and the wonders that come with it. 

"I first picked up a fly rod in 2016.  It honestly changed my life." 

Kinsey's fly fishing career is but a few years old.  It wasn't until 2016 that she decided to look into ways to spend more time outdoors, in whatever activity got her there.  A Google search from an airport lobby led her to a local outfitter in Denver.  Since then she has traveled all over the world in search of all manners of finned quarry. "I was always a city girl, but fly fishing definitely changed my life in so many ways," Kinsey said.  Those ways aren't just limited to booked up weekends and flights to far away airports, as she recently moved closer to the mountains just to be nearer to the fishing destinations she loves so much!

"Fly fishing means spending time outdoors with people I love.  I fly fish with my family, my boyfriend, best friends, and my beloved pup!"

At the time of that Google search, Kinsey probably had no idea that a Giant Trevaly would become her favorite fish, or that she'd even have a favorite fish!   That's part of the beauty of embarking into the fly fishing arena:  it can be as simple or involved as an individual wants it to be, and in some cases it can lead us to exotic locations in search of even more exotic fishes.  Just ask Kinsey, if you don't believe us!
