Wildwood Outfitters Blog and Fishing Report
Her first ventures into guiding were tagging along with her brother (a guide and outfitter) in Idaho. "I would ride drag on a few trips and help guide," Kara said. This experience would allow her to meet new people and help them enjoy the outdoors. As is the case with so many in the guide business, once it was in her blood the rest was history! After a move to Dillion, Montana in 2012, Kara dedicated herself to becoming a full time fly fishing guide. "For me, it's a lifestyle. I make a living fly fishing and teaching people how to catch trout, but when I'm not guiding I am fishing for fun!"
"I don't think I could pick a favorite trout stream or river. I've never fished one that I didn't fall in love with." This last year Kara took another exciting step in her career and launched Yellow Sally, a women/girls fishing clothing line! "I want women to feel confident in what they are wearing on the water," she said. It's not just for time on the water, however. Yellow Sally is a way for lady anglers to reflect their passion of fishing in everyday life. Kara could very well have created the world's first trout print dress! What started as tagging along on her brother's guide trips has now blossomed into a full-fledged career helping folks experience the outdoors and provide an exclusive clothing line that perfectly caters to females. It's the type of rise that can only make one excited to follow along with Kara's journey in anticipation of seeing what's next! Give Kara a follow on Instagram, Facebook, or visit the Yellow Sally website to see what she's up to! From now until the end of September 5% of each Wildwood guide trip sold will be donated to the PA and OH chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers! Book now for the 2019 or 2020 season and help contribute this hard-working conservation group!
