Wildwood Outfitters Blog and Fishing Report
"My first date and first time fishing was fly fishing in 1999 on the lower Madison River with this cute and crazy southern guy from Eastern Tennessee that I had a huge crush on from college, and we have been fly fishing together for the past 20 years, and married 14!"
Being part of the fly fishing community often means work in conservation or other goodwill projects that incorporate fly fishing. In that vein, she just finished her first run as a mentor with The Mayfly Project and their six-week program dedicated to mentoring foster children through fly fishing. "It was nothing short of amazing," Tiffany said. " I met other like-minded folks in my local fishing community and just being with those kids was a fantastic experience!" Aside from work with The Mayfly Project, Tiffany is also proud to be on the Pro Staff at Semper Fly Rods, a veteran-owned business in Ohio. Readers of ours might recognize Semper Fly Rods from a prior blog about owner Tony Makris. As a wonderful way of honoring her grandfather, a Marine, Tiffany uses a custom Semper rod for Lake Erie steelhead. She is also a certified Fly Fishing Skills Instructor through the PA Fish and Boat Commission, and she's on the Committee for the Pennsylvania Women Anglers supporting the growth of women and diversity in the sport. Or even better yet, visit her at The Fly Fishing Show in Lancaster, PA on March 7th and 8th!
