Wildwood Outfitters Blog and Fishing Report
1.) It's Exercise! Simply walking around outside might not seem like a strenuous workout, but spend an entire day wading against the current and your legs will let you know they're tired! Hiking up and the down the stream racks up the steps faster than you would think, and constantly holding a rod tip high puts the shoulders through a nice little workout! 2.) It Allows You To Unplug & Get Outdoors Technology surrounds us and has improved life in immeasurable ways. With that said, it's beneficial to take a break and unplug for a bit, which brings us to fly fishing! Fly fishing is one of the few activities where you can have tunnel vision and be totally immersed in the now. The rhythm of the fly cast coupled with the gentle tumbling of the water over rocks often leads to a contented deep breath with thoughts drifting far away from what's happening on Facebook or emails. 3.) Stress Relief There's a certain level of peace that's found out on the water. You'll hear people say that it's not about the catching, and that some of the best days are those in which few fish hit the net. While our guide trips always catch fish, the point remains that folks don't become passionate about fly fishing for the catching. It eases the mind and soothes the soul. It's an activity that morphs into a passion in no time at all. 4.) It's Fun Fly fishing is a TON of fun! That's probably the understatement of the century. It's amazing to see the pure joy that washes over anglers' faces when they catch a fish on a fly rod. It's what drives our guides to provide the best possible experience and it's what brings our guests coming back for more! Need a fifth reason? Now until the end of the year ALL Wildwood guide trips are 15% off for those who use coupon code FISHON at checkout!
